Begin your full-day exploration with a visit to the Catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa, the largest Roman cemetery in Egypt featuring three levels intricately carved into the rock. Explore the magnificent Temple of Abu Simbel, an extraordinary rock-cut sanctuary built by Ramses II with colossal seated statues of the pharaoh guarding its entrance. Learn the fascinating story of how this temple was buried under desert sand for centuries until its rediscovery in the 19th century, and how it was relocated in the 1960s to save it from Lake Nasser's flooding.
Return to the cruise ship and sail towards Kom Ombo. Visit Kom Ombo Temple, a unique dual-purpose sanctuary begun during the Ptolemaic period and completed in the Roman era, featuring two distinct sections dedicated to the local crocodile god Sobek and the eagle god Haroeris, with beautifully preserved reliefs and hieroglyphics. Continue sailing to Edfu for the evening.

This extraordinary sanctuary, built during the Ptolemaic era in the 3rd century BC from sandstone blocks, was constructed to worship Horus, the falcon-headed god, and represents a masterpiece of Graeco-Roman temple architecture. Admire the towering pylons, vast courtyards, hypostyle halls, and the sanctuary with its black granite naos (inner chamber), all remarkably well-preserved. The intricate hieroglyphic inscriptions and reliefs tell stories of ancient Egyptian religious practices and royal ceremonies.
